I was born in Regensburg, Bavaria on a full moon evening in October 1976.
When I was three years old my family moved to Portugal where I spent six
precious years of my childhood. Later I lived most of the time in Berlin
and Munich.
Portugal and the warm, cordial Portuguese mentality had a hughe influence
on my being. Portugal is the home of my soul and it seems that I'll remain
characterised by eternal homesickness.

I can't remember when I started to draw, I always did it. I am especially
intrigued by faces, facial expressions, gesture, eyes, hair and human
figure since my early childhood. I am completely self-taught and learned
everything I know about drawing during endless studies of human beings.
You will rarely meet me without pencil and paper.

Besides music plays an important role in my life. I have been playing piano
since I was nine years old. There came the day where I had to decide
between music and visual art because of chosing my profession - which was
very difficult.
You find me drawing portraits of musicians because it is a necessary link for
me between these two big passions and a unique way to show my deep love
for both.

If my time allows I devote myself to the art of writing once in a while.
Further I started to learn the art of tattoing lately, also self-taught.

My greatest pleasure is to bring someone joy by doing what I do.
My greatest joy is to see happiness in someone else's eyes.


Education and work:

After having finished secondary school among other things in 1996/97
I attended the Holzenbecher Berufskolleg for fashion, design and
clothing in Stuttgart and later a course for nude drawing in with
Prof. Hans Seeger at the Free Artstudio Munich.
Then I studied communication design from 1997 to 2003 at the university
of applied sciences in Munich. Having acquired academic degree
I returned to Berlin as Dipl.-Designer (FH), where I work as a freelance
artist on the subjects art, illustration and design.

Since then I worked on countless commissions including creations of
logos, CIs, print media, T-shirt motives, websites, cover artworks
for CDs and magazines, various illustrations for children and comics.
To mention a few stations:
I designed T-shirt motives for the young fashion label 'Good & Evil'
(goodandevil.eu), did design concepts and the refinement of mobile
phones and other articles with paintings and Swarovski crystals for
the company 'Bling My Thing GmbH' (bling-my-thing.com), painted on
leather for the designer 'Daniel Rodan' (rodan.de), worked as graphic
designer for 'Die Papierbank' (papierbank.de) and 'Dopo Domani
International Interior Design' (dopo-domani.com) in Berlin.
Besides I launched my portrait shop 'RockingerPortraits.' (rockingerportraits.com)
Currently I illustrate mainly for Blue Ocean Entertainment.(blue-ocean-ag.de)
